      A Yard Sale Permit is required at least 24 hours before hosting a yard sale to ensure compliance with city regulations. Use this form to submit your application for review and approval by the Building Official.


      Permit Requirements - ARTICLE 2. - YARD SALES

      To obtain a permit, applicants must provide the following information:

      ✔ Name & Address of the individual or entity conducting the sale

      ✔ Location where the sale will take place

      Date(s) of the Sale (limited to 1 or 2 days)

      Time Period (Sales are permitted between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM)

      If all submitted information complies with city regulations, a permit will be issued at no charge. The permit must be available for inspection during the sale and is only valid for the approved time and location. If a permit is denied, the applicant may appeal to the Mayor and Council.

      Yard Sale Rules & Restrictions

      📌 Time Limits – Yard sales may not exceed two days per calendar year at the same location.

      📌 Location – Sales are only permitted on residentially zoned properties with an existing residence.

      📌 Traffic & Parking – The applicant must ensure that yard sale traffic does not create congestion or hazardous conditions. Failure to do so may result in termination of the sale.

      📌 Signage – Only one non-illuminated sign (max 2 sq. ft.) may be posted on the sale property. No off-site advertising signs are allowed.

      📌 Merchandise Display – Items must be placed at least 5 feet from property lines and 10 feet from any curb or road edge.

      📌 Commercial Sales Prohibited – No business, corporation, or individual may conduct or promote yard sales for others for a fee.


      Enforcement & Penalties

      City officials may inspect any yard sale to ensure compliance. Violations are considered misdemeanors, and each day of violation is a separate offense.
