Mobile Food Vendor & Transient Merchant Vendor Permits

The City of Hapeville requires all Mobile Food Vendors and Transient Merchant Vendors to obtain a permit before operating within city limits. These permits ensure compliance with local regulations and promote a safe and organized business environment.

Mobile Food Vendor Permit

A Mobile Food Vendor is a retail food establishment that operates from a commissary and is readily movable, either as a motorized or towed vehicle designed to serve food. Vendors must apply for a permit before selling or offering food for sale, except for activities conducted as part of City-sponsored events.

Permit Options:

  • 90-Day Permit – $100.00 fee; valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.
  • 3-Day Permit – $50.00 fee; valid for three consecutive days as stated on the permit.

Transient Merchant Vendor Permit

A Transient Merchant Vendor is a temporary business selling goods or services in non-permanent locations. Vendors must obtain a permit before conducting business within Hapeville to ensure compliance with local ordinances.

Permit Options:

  • 90-Day Permit – $100.00 fee; valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.
  • 3-Day Permit – $50.00 fee; valid for three consecutive days as stated on the permit.

Application Requirements

Both permits require the submission of mandatory documents, including:

Executed Indemnity Agreement
✅ County Health Department approval (if applicable)
✅ Fire Safety Certificate (for food vendors)
Proof of liability insurance ($1,000,000.00 minimum coverage)
