Things are Taking Off!
The Main Street Board unveiled the “Things are Taking Off” Butterfly Public Art Project in 2008 introducing public art in the form of butterflies painted by local artists. The original collection is currently being inventoried, checked for condition and treated for the maintenance of the collection.
The Main Street Board is currently working with artists on Phase II of the project, which should be installed in the fall along when the original collection will be re-installed! Meet "Hope" (photographed at right) the first of the new collection of butterflies to be completed! "Hope" was created by Hapeville artist, Kaity Ferrero.
