[ARCHIVED] Be on the Lookout for suspects of two separate Carjackings.

The Hapeville Police Department is currently investigating two separate carjacking incidents. Both incidents are similar in nature. In both reports, the suspects are reported to be black males in the late teens to early twenties and are intentionally striking motorists from behind with their vehicle, setting up a minor vehicle accident in order to get the drivers out of their vehicles. Once outside, the perpetrators are taking the victims cell phones and vehicles by threatening them with a firearm. In both cases, the suspects were said to be young black males between 5’11” and 6’00” tall, between 185 and 190 pounds and armed with a small silver in color pistol.

Therefore, If you are involved in an accident we are recommending drivers to proceed to a safe location before exiting your vehicle, if it is practical to do so. In all cases, we recommend that drivers immediately call either 911 or our local number 404-768-7171 if you are involved in an accident. If anyone has information about these suspects, please call us on the emergency or non emergency number.
