[ARCHIVED] Scam Alert! BOLO!

On 2/23/2012 at 1530 hours a burglary was reported on Colorado Ave. The victim stated that two suspects were involved. The victim stated suspect one made contact with her at the front door and identified himself as a City of Hapeville employee. The suspect lured the victim out of the residence into her back yard where he stated the city was going to cut down some trees. While in the back yard suspect one telephoned suspect two and spoke in Spanish. The victim was unclear of the burglary until she noticed her watch and several necklaces missing from her bedroom.
The victim described suspect one as a Hispanic male with unknown further description. The pair were operating a white in color "work" truck that resembled a City of Hapeville truck.

A similar situation occurred on 2/15/2012 at 16:41 hours on South Gordon Cir. In this case, the victim stated a Hispanic male knocked on her door and introduced himself as a City of Hapeville employee. The suspect stated he was there to cut down some shrubs and lured the victim to the back yard. The victim stated she became uncomfortable and returned to her residence. The suspect tried to have the victim sign a paper form that he called a release form.
The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male 506/160, dark hair, no facial hair, early to mid 40's, wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. Suspect one was driving a white pickup with an extended cab and some sort of writing on the side of it. In this case because the resident was cautious and alert, no crime was committed.
