[ARCHIVED] FRIENDLY REMINDER: Fireworks During the Holidays

Citizens wishing to ignite fireworks and/or firecrackers on days other than the aforementioned holidays must obtain a special use permit from the City of Hapeville. An application for fireworks special use permit for the discharge, use, or ignition of fireworks must be submitted to the City’s Code Enforcement Department no later than ten days before the planned discharge. Please refer to Sec. 26-2-4. - Firearms, fireworks; discharging prohibited; fireworks special use permit. of the Code of Ordinances for more information.

The use of fireworks is legal until 11:59PM statewide around these holidays:
Memorial Day (last Saturday & Sunday in May),
Independence Day (July 3 & 4),
Labor Day (first Monday in September),
New Year's Eve (December 31, extended to 1 a.m. on January 1)
