Water Credit/Discount Policy

This is an update to our policy concerning the issuance of credit toward water bills. We understand that water leaks occur with little or no warning, which may cause financial difficulty. However, the City of Hapeville must purchase our water from the City of Atlanta and maintain our infrastructure. This is accomplished with monies from our water billing. Our new policy will be as follows; Water Policy (PDF)

Toilet Rebate Program

The City of Hapeville Water Department offers a Toilet Rebate Program to encourage customers to replace older, inefficient toilets and install low-flush toilets. Eligible customers will receive a $100 rebate for installing an approved Watersense Certified high-efficiency toilet. These toilets use 1.28 GPF or less and have received the WaterSense Certification. The customer must provide receipts and/or invoices showing the purchase of the toilet, and their water account must be in good standing.

Sewer Backflow Preventers

The City of Hapeville Water Department would like to take a moment to tell residents and businesses about sewer backflow preventers. Any structure, attached to a municipal sewer main, at or below street level, should have a sewer backflow preventer installed on their service lateral to help protect the property. This device helps to prevent the possible flooding of premises in the case of a sewer stoppage in a mainline. The Water Department strongly encourages property owners to install these devices in "at-risk" areas. If you have any questions, feel free to email Lemuel Eubanks or call 404-669-2122.
